NOTE: new MARCH pullies, alternator and A/C brackets along with a new set of

Sanderson "Block Hugger" ceramic coated headers had to be purchased due to

differences in the higher horsepower Dart Pro 1 angle plug aluminum heads.

Oh Well!

Here's the NEW 383 stroker being installed.

As you can see, the 700r4 trany is a bit larger than the Turbo 350 was

SO...a few changes have to be made for the frame, supports, and new

trany mounts. I also took some time to redo and clean up some of the messy

wiring-done by the original builder. Now the engine bay area looks much

neater.

As you can see, we have removed the fenders and are converting it

back to a "Hi-Boy" for awhile. We're waiting on the new headers and

the new shortened drive-shaft. Also note that I have to redo the exhaust

tips. In the photo above it kinda looks like a VW with a "Stinger Exhaust"! HA

I Gotta change that!

The photos above show the new automatic choke installed, some old wiring redone, and

the new POSI unti going into the freshened up rear end with new 3:80 gears and bearings.

The new Sanderson headers will really let the new 383 stroker breath. They are HUGE

on the inside and are nicer than any headers I have ever seen before. Top notch quality

and are being installed without gaskets! They are THAT perfect! You get what you pay

for in headers, that's for sure.

Also note the new Heavy Duty transmission fluid cooler mounted in front of the radiator

and the updated shift indicator for the new (4 speed) 700 R4 trany.

Converting the 33 back to a "Hi-Boy" of course means remounting the new King Bee headlights as well.

Which called for a new set of So-Cal headlight stands as seen above. I also shortened

the front nerf bars and moved them back farther into the frame horns for a better look.

One of the biggest holdups for getting the conversion completed was waiting for new

alternator and A/C brackets. The old set wouldn't fir n the new DART aluminum heads.

We ordered a set from MARCH pulleys and they drug their feet for (TWO) weeks

getting them to us. I finally got disgusted and told them to SHOVE their brackets and

ordered a set from Billet Specialties instead. Which match perfectly with the new valve

covers.

Almost done! Got it running, timed, tuned, a/c hooked back up, alternator

hooked up with the new brackets, repolished the wire covers, and etc.

Now we just have to recharge the A/C and finish up a few minor things

and it will be back on the road again.

Trevor of Levy Racing is shown here fabricating the new 50's style - "side Drag Pipes".

They look a lot better after he blends all the welds and I have them "Jet Hot Coated".

It should be a lot of fun with the electric cut-out butterfly mounted just in front

of the side pipes. As you can see in the photos above. It should sound pretty

"KOOL" too!
