Doc's

'67 Chevelle SS 427 Baldwin-Motion (tribute)

RESTORATION

Air Conditioning:

Throughout this cars past life, although it came from the factory with A/C, most of the A/C components

had been removed. Presumably due to the fact that it spent MANY years on a drag-strip. Evidently,

previous owners decided to lighten the car by removing any unnecessary components.

All of the interior A/C components were still in place and functional but everything under the hood

had been removed.

In my efforts to restore the car to it's original condition (as much as possible and still make it functional)

I installed a new (more efficient) Vintage Air A/C & Heat unit. So the car can actually be

driven and enjoyed year-round in any weather. Not much use in having a car that's un-driveable due

to excessive heat. Especially when it's BLACK!  Right?

THE COOLING SYSTEM

427 powered 67 Chevelle's weren't designed to be driven in hotter climates. Especially with A/C and in heavy traffic.

Therefore, I had an oversized custom built  HD aluminum radiator with 13" dual electric fans and

a custom fan shroud added to improve the cooling system. Built by Ron Davis Racing Products
