Amsterdam vacation continued....
For a tour of Edam-Volendam, Holland / Netherlands
Edam is a small city in the Dutch province of Noord-Holland.
Combined with Volendam they form the municipality of Edam-Volendam
a quaint little village we visited during our River Boat cruise.

I guess you could say that Edam is the perfect example of how a beautiful little village can be created with the proper control
of water and reclaimed swamp land.

As you can see in the photo on the far right, after 400 years of the ground settling on this marshy land things have a
tendency to move. Take a close look at the windows and doors on some of these homes.
There's not a straight line or row of bricks anywhere in this entire village. Ha
