Here's a few photos taken during our recent trip to Maui.

Sorry for the terrible picture of me receiving my award but the flash didn't go off.

Here's some better ones of our trip.

Taking a break and doing some business. Ha

We took a ride in a Helicopter around the island. It was great and we saw some beautiful sights.

Hundreds of waterfalls.

Extremely dense ground cover all over the island.

Some of our Entertainment

provided by the BEACHBOYS

"Mike Love" of the Beachboys! JoLeen spent about 20 minutes talking with him

one-on-one over a drink, the night before their performance for us. Needless to

say that was the highlight of the trip for her.

Some photos around the Hyatt Resort in Maui where we stayed.

Part of the Hyatt resort grounds which were beautiful

In the Hyatt courtyard.

On the beach at the Hyatt

Surfers everywhere!

We enjoyed watching the Whales matting and jumping out of the water all

up and down the coast line, the weather was almost perfect and the trip

was a delight. I hope you enjoyed seeing some of the photos we took.

I received a note from a friend of mine today that touched me so

profoundly that I thought I would share it with you.

Because They Are Worth It

One day someone's husband died, and on that clear, cold

morning, in the warmth of their bedroom, the wife was

struck with the pain of learning that sometimes there

isn't any more. No more hugs, no more special moments

to celebrate together, no more phone calls just to chat,

no more "just one minute." Sometimes, what we care

about the most gets all used up and goes away . never

to return before we can say good-bye or simply say "I

love you."

So while we have it ... it's best we love it ... and care

for it ... and fix it when it's broken... and heal it when

it's sick. This is true for marriage ... and old cars ...

and difficult children with bad report cards, old dogs

with bad hips, aging parents and grandparents. We keep

them because they are worth it, because we are worth it.

Some things we keep -- like a best friend who moved away,

a classmate we grew up with, or a new friend who feels

just like an "old" friend. There are just some things that

make us  happy, no matter what, so we try to keep those

things in our lives.

Life is important, like people we know who are special ...

and so we keep them close by!

I received this from someone who thought I was a 'keeper'!

So I am sharing this with you who I think of in the same way.

Now maybe it's your turn to share this with all those people who

are "keepers" in your life.

The best to you. As always!

Your friends "Doc" and JoLeen Hall.
