Do you want

"Improved cooling and handling?"

Then consider this...

When Ford first built the Falcon & later the Mustang they built these cars

as economy cars primarily and not necessarily as high speed performance

road cars. Therefore, a lot of corners and costs were cut in their production.

A common problem with many Mustang's is that they have cooling problems.

I also realized that under hard acceleration and high speed driving that the front

end of the car had a tendency to RAISE UP causing the front of the car to

get light and "float" which creates unstable handling abilities at high speeds.

As you can see from the photos below, when air hits the front of a Mustang

it enters the front and a lot of air passes UP and OVER the TOP of the radiator

and literally FILLS the engine compartment...causing the front of the car

to LIFT and become less stable.  The incoming air is not being FORCED

thru the radiator as it should be, it takes the path of least resistance and goes

UP and OVER the radiator instead. Filling the engine compartment and

lifting the front of the car.

After considerable testing, driving and racing I also realized that the front

air-damn that's built into the "R" model front apron, due to it's upward slanting design,

was further forcing the air UPWARD against the underside of the hood and over the

radiator- not 100% thru it -as it should.

As you can see in this photo, the new GT350 SR currently being built by

Unique Performance has attempted to correct the front end lifting problem

by cutting "elongated slotted holes" in the firewall to vent this excess air

out of the engine bay area. They too experienced "front end lift" and have

somewhat corrected the problem by venting the air out of the factory cowl

vent (above and behind the "elongated slotted holes". BUT...they still have

some occasional overheating problems like many Mustang owners experience.

THEREFORE...I have corrected both problems!

In this first photo you'll see that I have  "Doc's Air Foil" only partially finished.

It is initially made from two pieces (1) to cover the top of the radiator for improved

appearance, and (2) the second piece covers the existing cross support brackets for

the front fenders and radiator.

These finished photos shows the addition of the final (3rd) piece added to my

"Doc's Air Foil". This last and final piece is what makes the whole thing work.

Several improvements have been achieved by my air foil:

(1) it ties directly to the front grill piece, which has always been weak and

gets bent or broke every-time someone leans against it.

(2) now the frontal incoming air is all FORCED to go directly thru the

radiator and not over the radiator, which in my case dropped the engine

running temperature another 10 degrees

(3) no more air going UP and OVER the radiator into the engine

compartment. "Doc's Air Foil™" has not only eliminated the front end LIFT.

The car now feels much more solid at high speeds and it truly HUGS the

road much better. The faster I go the better the car handles. "Doc's Air Foil"

now allows the front air-damn that is built into the lower front "R" model

apron to "actually work" by pushing the front of the car downward.

(4) it has also added some additional strengthening to the frontal area

and in my opinion improved the looks as well.

As many people know, this added piece is not a new idea. It has been used

on many other cars for years to improve and direct air-flow as well as improving

handling characteristics. It's just NEW for my vintage Mustang!

PATENT PENDING! NO!

Would I make another one? NO!

You wouldn't believe what my air-foil cost, so don't even ask!
