Doc's Trip to Nashville, TN
for the 40th Mustang Anniversary
My car was #29 Registered for Mustang's Across America.
Coincidentally that's the same number #29 as Mark Donahue's
65 Shelby GT350 that set all the track records. Which my car
is designed and built to resemble. Therefore, I just had to complete
the package and dress it up for the trip as Mark Donahue's car.

This is how my car looked as I left for Flagstaff (on Sunday morning April
11th) to meet up with the other Mustang Across America drivers heading for
Nashville. Notice the new custom front bug screen I made to help protect it.

As we finally pulled into Nashville our group totaled around 300 cars. A sight to see!
Thursday the 15th arrival in Nashville- 0ver 1100 cars ready for the Cruise downtown
that evening. Here you can see that we made it and was one of the first to get there!
A little extra horsepower comes in handy on some occasions. HA

Heading HOME
My traveling companions home were Linda Butson of Salinas, Ca and Ron Wheeler of Clovis, Ca
they both shamed me into cleaning mine occasionally. Rocks in Holbrook Az.
JoLeen flew into Nashville and joined me for all the fun events over the weekend:
the Grand Ole Opry, a river boat dinner cruise, a glorious stay at the Opryland Hotel
resort, the Charlie Daniel's band concert on Sunday and she even had time to do
some serious shopping. HA
Lady luck and the Good Lord was certainly on our side since we never even caught
one drop of rain the whole trip, going or returning.
The Shelby did everything I asked of it and considering it's 450 h.p., I'm proud
to report that it even got 16 mpg on the trip and never missed a beat.
It was one of the most memorable trips I have ever ventured on and will remember
it well, along with all my new friends and fun times. Needless to say, I am most
pleased with "my SHELBY!"
